Help WANTED: Website Designers for our new website
Launch date: early 2013
As a local business in our community we specialize in auto parts and repairs - not creating a website. So, we need your help!
We are currently looking to hire individual(s) to help us with the design, structure, and content of this site.
We would like to eventually move to our own custom domain or dot com address as well.
If you have experience creating a website such as this one, we want your help!
We are looking for creative people who possess some of the following attributes:
- Web Graphic Design experience

- Multimedia Content Development
- Understanding Browser Capabilities
- Internet Presence
Some experience with website development will be required.
Web Site Designer Job Duties:
- Plans site design & functionality.
- Develops site navigation by categorizing content
- Develops site content and graphics
- Prepares site by installing and configuring server software; installing programming language using authoring and formatting tools; ensuring cross-platform compatibility; establishing links.
- Establishes presence online by registering with search engines.
- Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
- Protects site by designing and installing security precautions.
- Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions.
- Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Accomplishes information systems and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Web Designers - how do you measure up?
According to O*Net in 2008, 43% of web developers held a bachelor's degree, 27% had some college but no degree and 20% had an associate's degree. Web designers need education in computer technology and website design to be competitive in the job market.

The following duties will be expected of you, if hired:
- establish the website based upon our target audience
- create a content strategy
- determine any functionality that the site must support such as financial transactions or enquiries
- give guidance on layout, colors and styles.
The web designer/developer will then:
- write the programming code, either from scratch or by adapting existing website software and graphics packages to meet business requirements
- test the website and identify any technical problems
- upload the site onto a server and register it with different search engines.
